Start with the right budget

Spending power is the current value of all seven picks plus cash in bank. It is not just the cash you have left. Check both figures against the official game, select your points basis and active chip, and lock any picks you intend to keep. Exclude picks you do not want suggested.

Worked example: pay for a swap or hold?

This is an illustrative calculation, not a live pick. Suppose the rest of your team stays unchanged, neither affected driver has a boost, and you have no free transfers. Your outgoing driver costs $10.0M and projects 12 points; the replacement costs $10.7M and projects 25. With $0.8M in the bank, the move leaves $0.1M.

The gross improvement is 25 − 12 = 13 points. After the ten-point transfer penalty, the net gain is only three points. If the replacement instead projects 20 points, the net result is 20 − 12 − 10 = minus two, so holding scores better on those assumptions.

Even the three-point advantage is uncertain. Compare the drivers' downside and reliability, and check whether using the transfer now prevents a more useful move next round. If the boost recipient or a constructor changes, compare the complete team's score rather than only the two driver cards.

Multi-Week Planner

Plan transfers across two to five upcoming rounds. Future rounds use priors-only ML forecasts when available: historical form, circuit and reliability information, without practice telemetry from a weekend that has not happened. When a forecast is missing, the planner falls back to a confidence-weighted track-affinity estimate.

Select the chips you still have, a planning horizon and a strategy. The search compares sequences of moves, transfer banking and chip timing. Projected price changes carry forward into future spending power. A Target Team is optional; its intensity setting controls how much the search prioritises reaching that team.

How to choose a plan

1. Read the net points versus holding, not just the biggest total or price rise.
2. Check each round's bank and affordability. A plan depending on a forecast price rise may become unaffordable if that rise does not happen.
3. Check whether a chip is available and whether its timing fits the remaining calendar.
4. Rerun after practice and after official price changes. Future-round forecasts are planning estimates, not locked-in scores.

The planner searches a limited set of promising sequences; it does not prove the global best plan across every possible transfer path. A small forecast edge is a reason to compare options, not a guarantee that a transfer will pay off.
