The basics

You get a budget (usually $100M) to build a team of 5 drivers and 2 constructors. Each race weekend, your picks earn fantasy points based on how they qualify and finish.

Transfers

Between rounds you can make a number of free transfers; each extra transfer costs −10 points. Unused free transfers can be banked (up to a limit), so you can save up for a bigger move.

Chips

You also have one-off power-up chips for the season (3x Boost, Wild Card, Limitless and more). See the chips guide for what each does and when to use it.

Deadlines

Your team locks at the start of qualifying (or sprint qualifying on a sprint weekend). Make your changes before then — there's a lock-deadline countdown in the BoxBox site header.

Scoring in a nutshell

Points come from qualifying and race position, positions gained, overtakes, fastest lap, Driver of the Day, and constructor pit stops — minus a penalty for DNFs. The full detail is in how scoring works.
